HOME OF SHED47
Lathalmond Halt is the start point for your visit, and across the tracks from the home of Shed47, the loco shed itself. Here you can jump on board our ever-expanding standard gauge line, and visit our station shop and small museum telling the story of the railways in West Fife.
Currently, our trains are diesel hauled, but within the loco shed, we are working on a local colliery steam locomotive, NCB No29, which is progressing well. Find out more about the return of steam to West Fife during your visit.
MINIMISE
"Enjoyed the visit to the railway. Friendly and enthusiastic volunteers. The whole family liked it."
SCOTLAND'S NEWEST NG RAILWAY
The West of Fife Munitions Railway is the newest member of the Shed47 family and Scotland's newest narrow gauge railway. Our narrow gauge line is progressing quickly. Travel behind Scotland's newest steam loco - Big Dave, or a diesel locomotive rescued from a peat works, on track rescued from another Scottish defence site, and see a different view of Lathalmond. Board the munitions railway at Lathalmond Lower, across the road from Lathalmond Halt.
