WHO ARE WE?

Dunfermline and West Fife's very own Heritage Railway project, Lathalmond Railway Museum is located to the north of Dunfermline, on a shared site with the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum. With 2 operational railway lines operating frequently.

Shed47 Railway Restoration Group started the project in 1997, housed in the original WWII Royal Navy loco shed. Over the past 21 years, we have been rebuilding a small section of the once vast railway system in the former RNSD Lathalmond site. Visit and find out all about Dunfermline & West Fife's rich railway heritage.

We're open every Sunday from April to October, view our Events Diary for more details.

The newest member of the Shed47 family and Scotland’s newest narrow gauge railway. Our narrow gauge line is progressing quickly. Travel behind a locomotive rescued from a peat works, on track rescued from another Scottish defence site, and see a different view of Lathalmond.

Step into the past.

Visit our wartime railway weighbridge, the last one working of its kind in the country. Opposite, is our model railway, showing the huge changes to the Lathalmond Valley during the Second World War and beyond - from bogs to buses.

The start point for you visit, and across the tracks from the home of Shed47, the loco shed itself. Here you can jump on board our ever-expanding standard gauge line, and visit our station shop and small museum telling the story of the railways in West Fife, new for 2019.
